ingredients
- 500 mL (2 Cups) Milk
- 125 mL (½ Cup) Sugar
- 0.625 mL (⅛ tsp) Kosher salt
- 2 Eggs
- 2.5 mL (½ tsp) Vanilla extract
procedure
- Combine the milk, sugar, and salt and a small pot over medium heat; stir frequently until heated.
- Beat the eggs in a medium bowl, pour the milk mixture slowly over them, add the vanilla, and beat until well blended.
- Pour into molds or a pyrex baking dish, place the molds in a pan of hot water, and bake at 325 °F (165 °C) for about 45 minutes until the custard is set. To test, insert a silver knife of spoon. If the custard does not adhere to the spoon it is ready to be removed from the oven.
